Getting Started: CrossFit Fundamentals
You are here because you care about your health and well-being and our team is pleased to be part of your fitness journey. The first step to getting started is to call (360) 930-9166 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and schedule a complimentary workout at CrossFit Paramount.
After your initial workout, the next step is to sign up for the Fundamentals program or Personal Training. We understand our members have different fitness levels, strengths and limitations so all new clients are required to complete our Fundamentals program to ensure a safe and proper introduction to the gym.
The Fundamentals program is four sessions scheduled over two weeks. The classes are progressive, so it is important that you attend each class……in order. Adjustments may be made if you have already had experience working out in a CrossFit environment. Everything we do at CrossFit Paramount focuses on quality of instruction, safety, technique and form; therefore, graduation from the Fundamentals program is required for entry into our Group Classes.
The Fundamentals program is curriculum-based and emphasizes exposure to basic movements, correct form, proper technique, full range of motion, intensity and skill development. There is a workout at the end of each training session. The difficulty of these workouts is ultimately in your hands, the degree that you push yourself will determine your workout intensity.
During the sessions you will be introduced to the philosophy of CrossFit, warm-up fundamentals and nutrition basics. You will alsobe taught the essential movements needed to safely and successfully join our enthusiastic CrossFit community. Our coaches and members alike will be cheering you on at CrossFit Paramount!
Included in the curriculum: squat, front squat, overhead squat, press, push press, push jerk, thruster, deadlift, sumo deadlift high pull, kettlebell swing, box jump, wall ball, clean and snatch. This list is not all-inclusive.
